His third release, Slaughter King, released Dec '15, officially put 21 on the map as an artist to watch. Not long after its release, Savage was named by XXL a 2016 Freshman. With the release, 'Savage Mode' (July 2016), a collaboration with super producer, Metro Boomin', 21 Savage has taken his underground stardom to viable mainstream success, receiving 11.6k+ in sales total in its first week as a completely independent artist; charting #1 for a full week ahead of Drake, Schoolboy Q, and Logic. In it's 3rd week, 'Savage Mode' remained #4 on all of Apple Music (not just hip-hop).
